One of my absolute favorite places in Los Angeles is Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. This was once a private estate, but when it passed out of the Doheny family’s ownership in the 70s it was acquired by the city. It has since remained a public park, listed on the Department of Interior’s National Register of Historic Places. This mansion and the surrounding 12 acres are an incredibly quiet and peaceful escape from the hubbub of Sunset Blvd below. After church and lunch this past weekend we all escaped to Greystone, where time seems to momentarily stand still.
After looking through these again, I realize that I didn’t catch as many pictures of the mansion itself as I would have liked. Unfortunately most of it was closed off for a private party, so the next time I go I’ll be sure to take some more of the building…it really is beautiful!
